![]() Analysis: The only movement in the standings resulting from this past weekends games was Rukus overtaking Titans for the #3 seed, which gets them a first-round date with SWAT, while Titans get to face Strong Island in what will be a rematch of last year's semi-finals between those two teams. For those who forgot, Titans prevailed last time around. The winner of Rukus (3) vs. SWAT (6) will play the winner of MKA (2) vs. HUMANS (7). Both of those series are expected to be highly competitive and while the higher seeds may be the favorites going in, any two of these four teams can realistically advance. Rukus' big three will be going up against SWAT's big four, and four is better than three, right? We'll see... HUMANS used their gym time wisely yesterday with a team practice to prepare some surprise sets for MKA. Watch out for the "Statue of Liberty" play! The winner of Strictly Biz (1) vs. Hitmen (8) will get to play the winner of Titans (4) vs. Strong Island (5). The Titans and Strong Island match-up should be epic and in past years this would be a kind of match-up we'd expect to see in the finals or semis, not in the first round. Having to play two games in one day may tire Strong Island out in the long-run however, so that's definitely something to keep an eye on, but don't expect to hear them complain about it. It seems everyone has written the Hitmen off after their 2nd half slide, but with a full squad, they can hang with anyone. Don't forget that Triggy is the reigning MVP and Simran is still the biggest inside presence in the league. Don't discount these guys, but at the same time don't expect Strictly Biz to take them lightly. Final Standings: 1. Strictly Biz (11-1) 2. MKA-NY (10-2) 3. Rukus (8-4) 4. Titans (7-5) 5. Strong Island (7-5) 6. SWAT (7-5) 7. HUMANS (8-4) 8. Hit-Men (5-7) ------------------------ 9. Jaguars (3-8) 10. Basketballers (2-9) 11. Panthers (2-9) 12. Ravens (0-11) |
