![]() Analysis: As the HUMANS' captain so eloquently put it: "What an upsetting week!"... You can't be surprised to see some upsets going on because the records of all these teams were not only so close, but the parity is just unprecedented. It's not just that the #7 HUMANS defeated the #2 MKA team, it's how dominant their performance was. It was a blowout. The bottom line was that MKA came out timid while the HUMANS treated it like a finals game. Then you have the #8 Hit-Men who knocked off the favored #1 Strictly Biz with a miracle finish. Biz were slightly short-handed but that's no excuse. Hit-Men hung around long enough to steal this one. The good news for MKA and SB is that they are still alive in this double-elimination playoff format. #3 Rukus took it to #6 SWAT, who was missing their starting PG Reyyad. As usual with these two teams, little defense was being played and the NBA-looking score is evidence of that. Rukus' big guns were just too much for SWAT and Rukus' captain Muhammad lit it up with 5 three's. Likewise, #4 Titans easily dispatched #5 Strong Island. Strong Island's deep bench was nowhere to be found and you could say the same about their defense. Titans ran them out of the gym. The visual version of the brackets will be released tomorrow, but you should know that the Round Two match-ups will be: Hit-Men vs. Titans, RUKUS vs. HUMANS, SWAT vs. MKA, and Strictly Biz vs. Strong Island. In the mini Tea Cup Tournament of the Twinkling Stars™, the 'Ballers abused the comatose Panthers and the Ravens, yes I said the Ravens(!), knocked off the hapless Jaguars. Panthers and Jaguars get to go fishing while the 'Ballers and Ravens will get to play one last game on the 28th for the ultimate supremacy and bragging rights or something. |
