5:00pm game

Triple Threat
vs
Titans

Triple Threat didn't have a complete team at game time. The clock started and the 5th player showed up with 16:30 left on the clock, this allowed the Titans to jump ahead to an 8-0 lead. Triple Threat had also confided in some of the people at the game that their captain Abdullah was not ready to go and was going to sit out the game due to a knee injury. When Triple Threat turned out to be short some players Abdullah suited up to make sure that they could start the game.

Triple Threat started out down 8-0 and from the first tip they went on to a 9-0 run and took a 9-8 lead. Titans were down by as much as 16 in the first half and never really got in to the flow. Imran Raza dazzled with 5 assists as he would drive and dish to a wide open Abdullah who had 5 three's in the game. Stanley from the Titans did his best to keep the Titans in the game and they cut the lead to within 8 in the second half. On one possession Stanley blocked one shot, Triple Threat got the ball back and went right back up for another shot that Stanley deposited in to the bleachers. Triple Threat returned the favor by blocking Stanley on a posseasion a few minutes later. Triple Threat missing the majority of the bench and with Abdullah playing on one leg pummeled the Titans to shake up the world of SABL.

6:00pm Game

HUMANS took on the HitMen on our second game of the evening. HitMen walked in with captain Simran Lamba on crutches. He is expected to miss 2-3 weeks and the HitMen badly needed a win to clinch the 7th seed in the playoff berth. Unfortunately they ran in to the HUMANS high powered offense. HitMen started the game being down by 10. But as the HitMen are known to do they chipped away. Some big threes by Sinu, and Eky propelled the HitMen to within 6 points. Imran Hassan came off the bench to grab some big rebounds and finally Naveed ur Rahman was fouled on a three point attempt, hit his first two and missed the third, got his own rebound put it back and was fouled, so the HitMen had cut the lead to within 5 with that play from Naveed.

Humans were led by some great defense by Khurram Shahzad and the speedy guard play of Saad. Every HitMen missed shot was rebouned and a quick outlet was thrown out to a running Suleman or Saad for the easy lay ups. Some foul trouble on the HUMANS end turned this game close as the HUMANS got in to the penalty quite early. Ultimately the HUMANS were able to hold off the surging HitMen, and when the horn sounded this was not one of those famous HitMen comeback stories but instead of another win for the HUMANS.
