As of this morning the Garden school has allowed the SABL to continue to use the premises, with a one strike and you are out policy. If we get loud and or obnixious we have to leave. They mentioned that we have been acting like "thugs", when we pleaded that we are far from it etc..., they said well your league players have acted like "thugs" so you are considered thugs in our eyes. One last chance and that's it. On the referee union front, they are investigating the incident and they will ask to interview players within the league. They are also going to make suggestions and reccomendations to us, they also will fine us. How much we don't know, at that point we can either pay or go to binding arbitration as per the terms of our agreement. We are awaiting word on how much the fine is and if they will return. If they do not return we are still obligated to pay the fine plus any lost wages, which means the remaining games, we still have to pay the referees the amounts owed. This is as per the terms of the agreement. We have been speaking to the union representatives, as well as the two referees on hand at the time of the incident. The league is looking in to players who are going to be suspended etc.. and submit this list to the referees union, once done they will make their decision. |
