1. Lions (5-2) L1- With a sole grasp of first place in the standings, the Lions also top the East Conference Power Rankings. Their win over Adrenaline two weeks ago proved to be key as they now have a leg up heading into the final three games of the season. The quartet of Shaun Ramani, Danial Levent, Simran Lamba, and Tobin Varghese has proven to be too much for a lot of the other teams. But losses to the Red Jaguars and A-Team, two of the lesser teams in the conference has raised some eyebrows. So for the Lions the real question is which team will show up? The one that put together stinkers against the Red Jags and A-Team or the team that had convincing wins over the conference's elite? One thing is for sure the Lions can be hit or miss. and come playoff time, they'll either ride it to the championship or to an early playoff exit.

2. 24/7 (4-3) W2- After starting off the season with a couple of big wins, the defending champs faded losing three in a row. Since than the team has fought its way back with dominating wins over Force and the Red Jaguars earning the two spot in the Power Rankings. 24/7 is recognized throughout the league for their high octane offensive system. The trio of guards Jeff, Jonathan, and Yassine has been the key to their offensive success. But with this explosive offense also comes a defense which struggles at times. 24/7 has blown huge second half leads to both the Lions and Ravens. When their offense sputters, it leaves them wide open for huge runs making any lead they hold seem shaky, but this team's speed and athleticism more than makes up for its lack of defense, One thing's for sure, 24/7 is out to prove that defense doesn't win championships.

3. Adrenaline (5-2) W1- Adrenaline was rolling in the beginning of the season, playing great team basketball and winning four in a row. A loss to the Lions a few weeks ago has hobbled the team a bit but nonetheless Adrenaline for the most part has proven it can handle itself against any team in the conference. The team can run with the likes of 24/7 and still pound the paint with the Lions and Ravens. With SABL vet Khuram leading the charge, good perimeter shooting, and great inside defense, Adrenaline will be dangerous come playoff time. However there is one blemish on the team's record, and that can be seen in their two losses. Losing to the Lions and 24/7 raises question marks about the team's ability to compete with the best in the conference. Their offense flatlines at times, relying too much on Khuram, and they almost always have to erase an early deficit. They'll have their chance to avenge their most recent loss this week against the Lions.

4. Ravens (4-3) L1- The Ravens squeak into the top four with a win over A-Team a few weeks ago. Early on they were labeled as the team to beat in the East but haven't shown much since their comeback win against 24/7 in week 2. They played both the Lions and Adrenaline tough, taking the game down to the final minutes, and had convincing wins over Force, Red Jaguars, and A-Team. One game they may regret is last week's against the Desert Eagles, where an injury forced them to play a man down most of the way leading to a 20 point loss. The loss may prove to be costly as we head into the latter part of the season and teams start jockeying for higher seedings. But as long as the team continues to shoot a high percentage from downtown and Biju Thomas continues his stellar campaign, the Ravens are right up their with the other top teams in their bid for first place.

5. A-Team (3-4) W1- Not much can be said about A-Team that hasn't already been said. They played good basketball early on, but attendance issues forced the team to drop four straight games and plummet to the bottom of the conference. There is no question that the team has the talent to go all the way, it surrounds its tall forwards with deadly perimeter shooters, but the lack of cohesion between the two skills may be their downfall. The return of their big man Josh will help them gain some ground in the standings, their win over the Lions last week was huge, keeping them out of sole possession of seventh place. But catching the top three teams in the conference may prove to be difficult.

6. Desert Eagles (3-4) W2- One can hardly call the Desert Eagles season low key. Between the drama filled Week 1 game against A-Team and the very public cutting of G Hasim, this team has been host to more drama than the entire West conference combined. After losing to Force in Week 5, everyone had the Desert Eagles pegged as the conference's worst team. However since that loss, the team has bounced back with convincing wins over both the Red Jaguars and the Ravens. But the D'Eagles season has been marred by inconsistency, but wins over 24 Seven and the Ravens prove that they can win against the top teams. If the Desert Eagles can focus on basketball and less on each other, they can be a pain for teams down the stretch.

7. Red Jaguars (3-4) L2- The addition of Dennis had the Red Jags riding high, and though there run was impressive, it was also short lived. They ended the Lions undefeated campaign and edged out a depleted A-Team, but haven't done much since. The effects Dennis had on the team have all but worn off, bad losses to both the Desert Eagles and 24 Seven have brought them back to the bottom. But their little run proved that if this team clicks it can be a handful. We'll see what they can do the rest of the way, a win against Force would move them up in the standings.

8. Force (1-5) L2- No team must be more frustrated than Force. The team plays its heart out every game and has yet to see it pay off. Always competitive, the team has a tendency to slack off during the middle of games and allows huge runs that either take them out of the game completely, or allow the opposing team to take back the lead. Force seems to have a solid cast of roll of players, but with no superstar to help lead the charge, the team will continue to drop games. Unless someone steps up, Force is in for a long year and an early playoff exit.

1. High Rizerz - Fresh off of a 6 game win streak, High Rizerz find themselves at the top of the rankings. Since their week 1 loss, the High Rizerz have not yet lost a game. They have a balanced attack led by Vish and Rahul and play some of the most unselfish basketball this league has seen. Their team chemistry seem to be the backbone to their winning ways and it doesnt seem to be slowing down whatsoever. With their monster win over SWAT, the High Rizerz have locked into first at this point in the season.

2/3. Rukus/SWAT - We will leave this one up to the fans to decide. With identical records Rukus and SWAT find themselves flip-flopping for the 2 and 3 spots. Rukus' only loss has come at the hands of the Ballers, whom SWAT dismantled in Week 1. However, SWAT's only loss came at the hands of the High Rizerz whom Rukus narrowly escaped in Week 1. Only time will tell with these two teams. Once they finally square off, we will have a better and more concrete answer as to who is the more superior team. One thing is for sure, they are both a force to be reckoned with.

4. Titans - Consistency is the key to the Titans success. They have not fallen out of the top 5 in any of the 5 SABL seasons. Year in and year out they bring the best to the table and continue to be one of the most feared teams in the league. Their most recent win against the Ballers lock them into the 4 spot. Whats scary is that they are winning even with their bench. Their star players in Lejoe and Tom Job have missed a bunch of games and they continue to win. Once this team suits up a full squad, one can imagine how far they will go.

5. Ballers - The Jekyl and Hyde of the SABL. At times the Ballers look like the team to beat, but other times they dont. This team needs to find some consistency if they want to make it past the first round of the playoffs. They have had huge games against Rukus and HUMANS, but key losses against the Titans and SWAT make it tough for this team to be considered as one of the elite. Attendance issues have also plagued this team, but like in years past, we know come playoff time the Ballers will come out with their best punch.

6 - 8. HUMANS/Panthers/STYL - Ok ready to get confused? These 3 teams lock up spots 6 though 8. They all currently have a 2 - 4 record and we wont know what's what until the last week of the season. HUMANS have beat Warriors and have yet to play Panthers and STYL. But STYL lost to the Panthers but also have beat the Warriors. Until HUMANS play both the Panthers and STYL its safe to say these teams are fairly equal. The next two weeks will be big for HUMANS as they will play STYL and Panthers and could possibly get them back to .500. In the same respect, STYL who started off 0 -4 can win their next 2 games against HUMANS and Ballers and clinch a playoff spot. Panthers on the other hand can also win their next two against HUMANS and TItans and clinch a spot. Like we said earlier, these next two weeks are key for these teams and it will go down to the very last game of the year for them.

9. NYC Warriors - The Warriors showed alot of promise at times during the season. However the find themselves at 2-5 with a tough road ahead of them. Their next two games against Rukus and High Rizerz are going to be must wins for them until we get to matchup weekend. Its unfortunate that they will be playing two of the best teams in the league, but like the saying goes, its any given Sunday. If this team can muster up the energy to come up with a win, they can be playoff bound.

10. Strong Island - My what a difference a year makes. One of SABL's powerhouse's has yet to find a win this season. Since their recent acquisitions of Mo and Vick they have been super competitive. But they have not been able to close out any of their games and remain at 0 - 6. Unless this team wins their next 3 games and at least 2 of the teams ahead of them go winless....they might be able to still sneak into the playoffs as an 8 seed. It will be hard though as they are set to face SWAT and Ballers in the next coming weeks. But this team has surprised us before...only time will tell if they are done for good
