The SABL is being sued by the Referees union due to harrassment. In particular the ugly incident at the end of the game, plus the situation where a condom was thrown in the direction of the female referee.
Obviously the SABL is asking anyone with further information to come forward. Currently we are looking at fines in excess of $1000.00.
All games going forward are postponed until further announcement.
We are negotiating with the referees union as well as the Garden School to continue the league.

All games on February 4th have been canceld by the Garden school due to Super Bowl Sunday.
We will be extending the season by one week to make up this game.

Basketballers defeat Titans
Warriors win over Triple Threat due to a forefit.
This is the second game in a row that Triple Threat has not been able to suit up a team. Captain of Triple Threat has to sit out the next game on 1/28/07. He may attend but he can not play in the game.
Captains should email their game scores right away and stats have to be in by Tuesday.
Effective immediately, all opposing teams must be seated to the opposite of each other, on opposite sides of the gym, the people who are watching must stay in the middle away from both teams.
Reminder that if another player touches another player in an aggressive manner during a game or outside of the game they will be out of the league, no questions asked, if someone is touched and then responds, they will also be out.
If one player punches another player punches or kicks another player outside of the game being played, the team will be removed from the league. We take anything like this very seriously.
Shock and Hit Men have been warned as have some of the other teams in the past that any kind of conduct detrimental to the league will not be tolerated. |

Week 7 Results
All Captains email me scores from their respective games.
We have some issues that need to be addressed before we move forward
1 Teams need to start on time, the Hit Men were late today resulting in a backing up of all games.
2 Rim Rockers did not have someone to keep stats for game 1 in time, the person came 15 minutes late.
3 Triple Threat did not have enough to field a team, and Basketballes kindness is the only reason that they did not forefit.
4 Hit Men didn't keep proper stats for the teams that preceded their game.
5 During the Warriors and Dynasty game we have 2 players who are continuing to talk more than play. Ahmad from Dynasty and Nader from Warriors. League is looking in to their behavior and their captains have been notified. Future misbehavior will result in suspensions and or expulsion from the league.
Regardless of the competitiveness of games we have to act civilized on the court as well as off of it. Putting on a SABL uniform and dribbling a basketball doesn't allow you to act with out thinking.
Referees have been instructed to call technicals on all teammates and pseudo coaches who are sitting on the bench. Technicals during games will increase as the amount of talking has increased to intolerable levels. Please be advised that this behavior will not be tolerated. The referees will be caling very tight games going forward.
This is a direct result of players behavior on the court that we are having to tighten up things.
