The final open gym for SABL teams & players will be held at Locust Valley this Thursday, October 15th at 7:15 PM. There will be two courts available for use in pick-up games. As always, please keep the gym clean and vacate the school before 10:00 PM. The SABL Free Agent Draft will be on Thursday October 22nd at Locust Valley, starting at 7:30 PM. FA's looking for a team to play on in the SABL will be assigned a number and will be asked to play in scrimmage with other FA's. Interested captains will then be able to pick, in a predetermined order, players they may need. SABL Jerseys

We will be ordering jerseys this week for all SABL teams. Returning teams will be allowed to use their jerseys from last SABL season and only order on an as-needed basis. All other teams must get jerseys for all their expected players. An email with all the details has been sent out to the league captains already. Deposits and League Updates

Thank you to all the teams that have submitted their deposits on time. We are waiting on the last few remaining teams to get their deposits in so their spots for the upcoming season can be secured as well. The league is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 25th for SABL West which will have 12 teams competing. SABL East, on the other hand, will start Tuesday October 27th and is set to have 8 teams battling it out for the crown. Most of SABL's best teams from past years are making a return in addition to many newcomer teams who are looking to make a name for themselves and add to the fun of the league. More details will be forthcoming next week... stay tuned! Update: Correction - SABL East will be starting on Thursday October 29th and the games will be played on Thursdays thereafter. All East captains have been notified of the change. Also, for those few teams that have yet to submit their deposits for the '09/'10 season, after this Monday (Oct. 12th) we will have no choice but to give those spots to new teams that are on the wait list unless those deposits are submitted before then!

 

Pick-up Games for SABL

The SABL will be hosting pick-up games this Wednesday night at 7:30PM-10:00PM at Locust Valley (99 Horse Hollow Rd, Locust Valley, NY 11560). If your team has confirmed its intention to play in this upcoming season, you are welcome to attend (free agents are welcome too). Please keep the gym clean, as always, and vacate the school by 10PM. For all free agents out there still looking for teams for the upcoming season, ready yourselves for the upcoming draft which will take place (tentatively) on October 21st. The venue will be announced next week. Interested captains and free agents will be asked to show up and the process will be conducted in an organized manner after some scrimmages are played.
