Red Jags vs. PrimeTime
Epic matchup between 2 stellar teams. The game started out very competitive but Red Jags were quickly able to pull away as PT was unable to get a basket. The defensive presence of Ceon Stuart, with his game leading 12 rebounds and 4 blocks deterred PT and kept them out of the lane. PT's biggest weakness all year has been that they do not have a true PG. We all know that without a true PG, teams can only go so far. RJ on the other hand have a stellar PG in Dennis B. The experts were right in predicting he would be the difference maker this game as he dropped a game high 21 points. Big game by the floor general. Red Jags win BIG 76-56.
24/7 vs. A-Team
The legendary matchup. Although both teams are on opposite sides of the spectrum, each time they meet its a fantastic story. The last time out, suspensions were handed out as the game got out of hand. This game was to be handled by the rest of the team as the stars Josh and Yassine were out of action. As always, the game was very competitive as Zain and Omed handled the bulk of the load for A-Team. Zain has been a perennial all-star and is most often over looked because of the teams hes been on. On the other side, the deep 24/7 team had a very even game as everyone from MVP Jon to Emosh himself chipped in. But history did repeat itself and 24/7 moved passed A-Team in a 10 point win. A-Team is winless against 24/7 in their last 3 games and until they figure out how to beat them, they wont be seeing SABL gold. 24/7 wins 73-63.
Desert Eagles vs. Force
What a difference 1 player can make. DE was without their defensive stopper Walid Hariki and it was obvious. Eagles were unable to play the dominant ball they have become accustomed to even though Harvey had an excellent game. The rest of the team was a no-show and took a back seat to the oohs and aaahs that Harvey attracted. But the main attraction here was the great defensive play of Force. They showed up with a full squad and Jones and Biju Thomas played a great game. Their ball movement and penetration couldnt be stopped as they took advantage of the small front court of the Desert Eagles. Not a good feeling for DE as they played a very poor game without their star. They need to make sure they can step it up without Walid if they want to avoid an early playoff exit. Force is getting hot at the right time as they win 65-57.
Outlawz vs. Wolverines
The 2 newbie teams havent met since week 1 and we all know that the Wolverines have grown since then. The Outlawz have been pretty consistent with their play all season and we knew what to expect. Wolverines on the other hand, although somewhat more matured since week 1, have shown weaknesses on the defensive end. We all know Alain and Shergeel can drop buckets, but can they stop their opponents. In the SABL, the best defensive teams have always won the chip. So the Wolves needed to step it up on D to show they can run with the best of them. Wolverines in similar fashion boast the worst defense in the East by allowing almost 68 PPG. So was going to be a offensive minded game and the winner would be who ever chooses to play defense. In this case, the Outlawz stepped it up and contained the Wolves to a 2 man game. It was a close game but Nikil and Co. were able to sneak by the Wolves in a close one. Very different than the first game, but a win is still a win as Outlawz take it 68-62.

Hi Rizerz vs. Storm WOW! What a game. Third straight week that the 12PM game is one for the ages. This game did not disappoint as the stars came out to shine. Most notably, Ming from Storm went off as he notched 33 points in this game. Ming picked up the slack as Storm was missing their star Mike McDuffie. The rest of the squad got the message and also stepped up with a huge double double from Sim and great play by Prince. It wasn't enough however as Hi Rizerz sneaked by them in a 2 point win. They were also missing their star Vick Manocha but the rest of the squad led by Vish and Jassi were able to get a few stops late in the game to preserve their lead. Hi Rizerz avoid the 2 game losing streak and get the win 98-96. These 2 teams might meet in the first round of the playoffs and we know Storm is eager to get another shot at HR.
NYC Warriors vs. 7th Letter Ent. / Tic Tavern This was a huge game for both teams as they are playing for the last few spots in the playoffs. 7th Letter got the message and showed up full force. NYC Warriors on the other hand didnt show up until mid first half and it really hurt their game. Haron and Mark did what they could as they played hard to get their team back into it after a huge first half deficit. It wasn't enough however as Carl and Rayman pounded the paint. 7th Letter shows flashes of brilliance and are playing great basketball right now. The under appreciated play of Rayman has been huge and he is flying under the radar. He's been posting double doubles in the past few games and its been key as 7th Letter is gearing up for a playoff berth. Lets see if this young team can ride this streak into the playoffs and make some noise. NYC Warriors will need to regroup and close out the season strong as they currently find themselves out of the mix. It will be sad to see the talent of Haron and Mark miss the playoffs after such a great season. 7th Letter wins 68-59.
SWAT vs. Astoria Bulls Not much to say here, but the experts were pretty exact in their prediction. SWAT came out firing on all cylinders and jumped out to a huge first half lead. Looks like the Bulls are the team to set records on this year. Mike Bravo notched the most points scored in a single game with his game last week against the Bulls. This week, it was all about Usama Nausrudeen. The legendary baller is officially in the record books as he hit 14 three pointers in this game. A record previously held by Haron Hargrave earlier this season when he hit 12 three pointers against RUKUS. Unfortunate for Haron as both his records of most points and most 3's in a game were both broken by players against the Bulls. SWAT wins huge 102 - 54.
Panthers vs. RUKUS Another great game that didn't disappoint. Panthers came out on fire and handed it to RUKUS. This game was taken over by rookie sensation Jamal Razaki as he was unstoppable and dropped 31 points against RUKUS. Mo B and team were looking for an answer and were not playing classic RUKUS ball. Mike Bravo couldn't get it going as the bigs of the Panthers were able to equalize his talent. Complete team effort on defense for the Panthers led to a ton of turnovers for RUKUS and kept the pressure on. Panthers are now positioning themselves as a sleeper squad for the playoffs as they have now beaten SWAT, RUKUS and took HR to a double OT game earlier this season. They have now beat 2 of the top 4 teams in the league and look like the real deal. Don't be surprised if this team makes some real noise in the playoffs. We aren't worried about RUKUS as they are known to get it going when the time is right. Panthers win 77-52.
Titans vs. Ballers The late game was a very entertaining game for those that stayed around to watch. Ballers were looking to win their 3rd straight game and avenge their loss to the Titans earlier this season. The two teams who are very evenly matched battled from tip off. But the outstanding team play of the deadly backcourt of Daniel Chin, Tom Job and Anil Chinnan was too much for the Ballers. The 3 of them were in synch and were able to tear the Ballers defense apart. Suleman and Manjot did what they could but were unable to close out the game in the final minutes of the game. Titans bounce back from a devastating loss last week to the Warriors and are in the thick of things as they find themselves battling for playoff positioning with the Panthers and SWAT. Titans own the tie breaker over Panthers and SWAT as of today and if playoffs started today would find themselves as the 3 seed and in great position to move towards the championship. Ballers will need to close out the season strong and can do so with a big win against the Bulls next week. Going to be an interesting few weeks. Titans knock off Ballers 73-66.

Red Jags vs. PrimeTime In a week full of amazing matchups, we start off the East division with a monster game. Red Jags and PrimeTime are 2 very evenly matched teams. Both teams are built similarly with strong big man play with high flying swing man. But what the difference maker may be is the play of Dennis Blanchette.. He is most often overlooked in the East but his solid PG play is the reason his team is where they are. His ability to get his team mates involved will be the deciding factor in the matchup. These 2 teams can most likely meet in the playoffs and this matchup can be a serious primer. Both teams are coming off impressive wins last week and are looking to create some steam heading into the playoffs. Experts predict Dennis to be the difference maker and help Red Jags notch this win. 65 - 60. 24/7 vs. A-Team The epic battle. Don't look at the standings, this game is going to be intense. 24/7 kisses their undefeated season goodbye with the loss they suffered to the Desert Eagles last week. They left the gym scratching their heads as to how they allowed Walid and Harvey take over that game. Although they were missing their highest scorer in Yassine due to suspension, 24/7 should have had enough talent to win the game. A-Team on the other hand has been an utter disappointment this season. The last time these 2 teams met a few weeks ago, it was a battle for the ages. A-Team claims their full roster will show this week and will take on 24/7 full forced. Much to be seen this week and we hope the 2 teams keep this game clean. The league cannot afford any more mishaps between the 2 of them. But experts predict 24/7 wins 77 - 64. Desert Eagles vs. Force Eagles are sporting a 5 game win streak and is led by the amazing play of Walid Hariki. The sure standout winner for most improved player, Walid is averaging a double double and is getting each and every one of his team mates involved. His play has led to the manhandling of the other teams including the big win against 24/7 last week. Force on the other hand are also coming off a big win last week against the A-Team in a very impressive game. They showcased some excellent team ball and are looking good as of late. Everyone remembers how they picked it up last year as they headed into the playoffs and came close to knocking off 24/7. Lets see if they can keep it up with a big win against Walid and the Eagles. Nonetheless, experts predict Walid to dominate this game and lead DEagles to a 6 game win streak with a 66 - 54 win. Outlawz vs. Wolverines Their week 1 matchup seemed like so long ago. 2 newbie teams to the East of which noone knew what to expect. The 2 teams are separated by 1 game in the very tight East race and this game will have heavy weight on the playoff matchups. Through the season we have seen 2 stars emerge in Alain from the Wolverines and Nikil Kumar from the Outlawz. These 2 guys are primed to be superstars and mainstays in the SABL and look for them to battle it out this week. Although the Outlawz have been weary lately, this game is going to come down to Tobin Varaghese. Along with Walid, Tobin is on his way to be one of the most improved players in the league. He has dominated the game this year unlike any other. Look for him to carry the load and help the Outlawz win a close game against the Wolverines 66 - 60. |

Hi Rizerz vs. Storm HR are coming off a crushing loss to rivals SWAT. The game came down to the wire and they came up short in a 2 point defeat. They look to rebound against a faltering Storm team. Storm overcame a 25 point deficit last week to come back and lose a close game to the Ballers in similar HR fashion. Storm will desperately needs this win if they want to solidify their spot in the playoffs. Seeds 7-9 are up for grabs right now and they need to win this game. HR on the other hand will be playing for seeding and will look to rebound after last week. Look for Rahul to bounceback after a dismal appearance against SWAT. Lets see if Mike and Ming can carry the load and give HR their first 2 game losing streak in over 2 seasons. Experts predict a close game but Storm wins 73 - 70.
NYC Warriors vs. 7th Letter Entertainment / Tic Tavern This game might end up being one of the most entertaining games of the week. Both teams are battling for the last seed in the playoffs and 7th Letter is looking like the odd man out as of todays standings. They will need a huge game from Carl and Co. in order to do so. On the other hand, Haron and team Warriors took advantage of a depleted Titans team to inch one step closer to the playoffs. In the words of Haron, "its all about the playoffs, as long as we get there...we are going to make some noise". This might be the game to solidify it for them. Going to be an interesting game to pay attention to. Experts predict Warriors take the win 74 - 66.
SWAT vs. Astoria Bulls Unless something catastrophic happens here, we dont expect much of a challenge for SWAT. Look for them to build on build on last weeks big win against HR and fight for prime playoff positioning. Bulls on the other hand can use this game to show that they arent a team you can walk all over. They can show up and put up big games as we have seen throughout the season. But experts predict SWAT wins big 91 - 72 as Reyaad makes his case for the MVP candidacy.
Panthers vs. RUKUS Another fantastic matchup in a week full of awesome games. The last week of the season where all teams have played eachother at least once. This game is going to be very entertaining. RUKUS has not seen a team like the Panthers yet. They are a full force and very young and active team. RUKUS on the other hand plays a patient game and are very systematic. Two very different styles of play will make for a crazy game. Panthers will need to find a way to contain Mike Bravo. They have a few bigs and a team first mentality. Look for them to double team Mike and make the rest of the RUKUS team pick up the slack. Will be interesting to see if RUKUS can keep up with the young guards like Jamal of the Panthers. Will be a very close game but experts say RUKUS takes this one 77 - 72.
Titans vs. Ballers Titans are coming off a bad loss that was credited to a thin squad due to the Giants game. Ballers on the other hand showed up and took care of business against Storm. Manjot and Suleman have been playing great ball lately and are really flying as of late. Their defense has been stellar and it shows by the number of steals the team gets each and every game. Look for Ballers to keep up the pressure on the Titans and force Tom and Daniel Chin to take less 3's and go to the basket. Titans need to make sure their bigs show up to this game or else they will be in big trouble. But with the fantastic play of the Ballers lately, experts are picking them to defeat the Titans in a defensive matchup. Ballers win 69 - 63. |
